Research
The Department of Economics at MMU has a well-established research and publications record. We have participated in all the Research Assessment Exercises since 1992 and in the 2001 RAE, we obtained a 3A grading in the unit of assessment Economics and Econometrics.
Members of staff in the Department have published in the areas of microeconomic theory, the history of economic thought and political economy, economic and monetary integration within the EU, regional convergence, forecasting, foreign direct investment and development economics.
We offer opportunities for postgraduate study by research, produce a working paper series and hold research seminars normally in the Autumn and Spring Terms.
