Jeremy Over is a civil servant living and working near Cockermouth in West Cumbria. He joined MMU's Online MA Creative Writing: Poetry programme in September 2007, and is also completing the Pedagogic Studies Route on campus. He has read his poetry at venues including the Poetry Café, Troubador Coffee House and Whitechapel Art Gallery in London, the Bolton Octagon Theatre, and the Free University in Berlin. He has led poetry workshops at the University of Essex and at the University of Warwick as a guest writer for the National Academy for Gifted and Talented Youth. He was the BBC Wildlife Magazine Poet of the Year in 2002 (but is still waiting for the prize wooden badger he has heard Ian McMillan tell of).

Jeremy's poetry was first published in the anthology New Poetries II in 1999. His first full collection, A Little Bit of Bread and No Cheese, was published by Carcanet Press in 2001. A second, Deceiving Wild Creatures, was published 2009.
