Centre for Excellence in Teaching and Learning

The Department of Information and Communications has an international reputation for excellence in teaching and research. We offer a choice of routes for undergraduate study including Information Management, Information and Communications, Librarianship, Digital Media and Communications and Web Development. There are Masters courses in Information Management, Library and Information Management and Informatics. We also offer doctoral research opportunities.

Departmental research is conducted within the Information Research Institute at MMU. The Institutes main research themes are: Access to Electronic Information, Information Management and Social Informatics. We were awarded a grade 4 in the 2001 Research Assessment Exercise. The Department is home to the well-known Centre for Research in Library and Information Management (CERLIM) and the Information Literacy Learning Area for The LearnHigher Centre for Excellence in Teaching and Learning (CETL).
