The Crime Fictions Research Centre based in the Department of Languages at Manchester Metropolitan University is the only specialist research grouping engaged in scholarly activity devoted to film and narrative detective and crime fictions - primarily in languages other than English.
Members are acknowledged leaders in the field of detective fictions in their respective language areas and have published widely.
Numerous research projects are currently underway, and the Crime Fictions Research Centre organises conferences, courses, guest lectures, and other activities. It also publishes the Manchester Crime Fictions Research Series through Manchester Metropolitan University Press.
