Student Support Officer
The Faculty's Student Support Officer, David Peters, provides a dedicated support service to all students currently enrolled on programmes within the Faculty of Humanities, Law and Social Science. David is available throughout the year to provide advice and guidance on any aspect of University life including:
- Finding your way around campus and Manchester
- Jobs and careers
- Accommodation
- Managing your time
- Presentation skills
- Essay writing
- Exam tips
- Dealing with stress
- Getting the best from your course
- Anything else you would like to talk about
The Student Support Officer can also signpost students (and staff) to other relevant sources of information and advice around the campus and the city.
Based in the Student Information Point (S.I.P), Geoffrey Manton Building, David's advisory sessions allow students to meet on a one-to-one basis, in confidence and are held on:
Monday: 11am - 2pm (no appointment necessary)
Tuesday: 1pm - 4pm (no appointment necessary)
Friday: 1pm - 3pm (appointments available).
